DESIGNER CHALLENGE DAY 22: LOUNGE

Day 22 of the Full Circle Eventi challenge is all about the wedding lounge. Whether it's right next to the dance floor so guests can take a quick breather in between sets, or in a remote outdoor area where guests can get some fresh air and chat, the wedding lounge can be something truly special.

I chose an outdoor lounge with style and personal touches, surrounded by lanterns and chandeliers. I started with cozy, neutral couches and hanging chairs (how cool are they?!), and added lots of pink pillows and pashminas for ultimate comfort and warmth. This lounge also comes prepped with the couple's guest book, a photo runner on the coffee table, and whiskey and cigars for the late night crew.

DESIGNER CHALLENGE DAY 21: VIOLET TULIP

Oh Pantone, how we love thee. Day 21 of the Full Circle Eventi challenge brings with it another lovely Pantone color - Violet Tulip. It's a bluish lavender tone and I think it blends perfectly with soft pink and blue tones.

Add luscious, overflowing blooms, hints of lavender, and beautiful calligraphy, and you have one stunning soiree.

DESIGNER CHALLENGE DAY 20: PATTERNS

We are focusing on patterns for day 20 of the Full Circle Eventi challenge, and I went with a mix of different patterns that all work beautifully together, because they are all black and white.

I used black and white stripes as the main pattern, and complimented that with a checkered pattern and a floral pattern, plus pops of peach and tangerine.

I think the mix is fun, fresh, and sophisticated. What do you think?

DESIGNER CHALLENGE DAY 19: BURLESQUE

I have never planned a burlesque-themed affair, and thought that I never would, but after day 19 of the Full Circle Eventi challenge, I may just seek an opportunity out.

I chose an understated burlesque feel with black, white, silver, and gold, with bits of feathers and bling, and I think the result is subtle and elegant.

DESIGNER CHALLENGE DAY 18: PALOMA

It's another Pantone color for day 18 of the Full Circle Eventi challenge - Paloma, a muted neutral gray - which I paired with a pastel watercolor palette of very light pink, blue, and yellow.

The dark gray pillar candles stand out on the tables amongst a sea of pale prettiness. The watercolor pattern appears on the invitations, escort cards, and cake, while the bridesmaids glow in their mismatched, but coordinated frocks. A perfect palette for a spring or summer fete.

DESIGNER CHALLENGE DAY 17: BRIDAL SHOWER

So we're veering away from weddings for day 17 of the Full Circle Eventi challenge, but not too far - today we get to design a bridal shower!

My head was spinning with so many different ideas at first, but I ultimately narrowed it down to an intimate girly lunch full of pink and coral elegance with gray and white stripes, touches of rose gold, and chalkboard details.

To make this shower really unique and memorable, I added a custom perfume and bath salts bar, so that the lovely ladies can create their own unique scents and mix and match bath salts - what a fun interactive experience and an amazing favor to take home, right?

And with all that fun creating going on, there's no time left for those typical bridal shower games...which I think everyone will be secretly thrilled about!

DESIGNER CHALLENGE DAY 16: SUSPENDED DECOR

I'm loving day 16 of the Full Circle Eventi challenge - suspended decor! You can really get crazy and creative with this one.

I opted for shades of pink and ivory and started with layers of suspended pom poms in all their poofy glory, hanging over the dining tables.

I then added hanging flower-filled lanterns, streams of ribbons framing the ceremony area, a floating cake, escort cards woven through suspended ribbon, and my personal favorite - hanging table numbers. Being able to see every table number all at once just by looking up - priceless - love, love, loving that.

DESIGNER CHALLENGE DAY 15: COMIC SUPERHEROES

I was totally thrown for a loop with day 15 of the Full Circle Eventi challenge, which was to design a wedding around Comic Superheroes. This one was completely out of my comfort zone since the weddings I typically design don't have themes that could also work for a five year old's birthday party. But, since I'm always up for a challenge, I forged ahead!

And after a little bit of thought, I decided to choose one superhero (Superman), and focus mainly on the colors (red, blue, yellow), while adding a few Superman touches to some of the details, like the invitation, groomsmen socks, groom's cake, and cake topper.

DESIGNER CHALLENGE DAY 14: SAND

When I first started thinking about ideas for day 14 of the Full Circle Eventi challenge - to design a wedding using the Pantone color, Sand - I thought I would pair it with vibrant colors like poppy red and slate blue or lemon yellow and teal.

All of those would be beautiful, don't get me wrong, but instead, I decided to let the sand hue shine amongst other neutrals, like shades of gray and tan. I wanted to show how beautiful a greige (gray and beige) wedding can be when paired with lots of texture and interest.

The key to making a beige wedding look, well, not beige (interpretation: boring), is to use many different shades to add visual appeal. I think this combination is anything but boring.

DESIGNER CHALLENGE DAY 13: 2014 TREND OF CHOICE

There are so many amazing wedding trends for 2014, and with day 13 of the Full Circle Eventi challenge, we were tasked to design another wedding using the trend of our choice. I chose to focus on pops of color.

We've seen pops of color in the past, but this year it's all about picking only one and using it sparingly. I took Pantone's 2013 color of the year, Emerald, and paired it with black, white, and nude for a fresh, modern twist. The green doesn't show up everywhere - just in pieces of the wedding - and in small doses as to not be overpowering. Take a look and let me know what you think!

DESIGNER CHALLENGE DAY 12: BOLLYWOOD

Day 12 of the Full Circle Eventi challenge is all about Bollywood, which calls for lots of bright colors and intricate patterns. I choose magenta and orange with pops of purple. Flowy fabric billows throughout, while gold accents glitter and shine.

MEET KELLER GLASS OF CADDYWHOMPUS PRODUCTIONS

We're back with our monthly vendor interview series and I'm stoked to introduce you to a talented cinematographer, who will bring your wedding to life with his fresh, modern, and thoughtful approach to film. He has an impressive background in audio engineering, online marketing, and the entertainment business, and his enormous passion for what he does is obvious through his work. See for yourself.

Meet Keller Glass of Caddywhompus Productions...

Q. How did you come up with the name?
A. I’ve always had a fondness for wordplay and for strange/old-timey words. “Caddywhompus” comes from the Latin word for four and is etymologically very closely related to “caddy-cornered.” It means slightly off-kilter or askew, and is usually used in a slightly comical sense. It is one of those words that I love in that it describes a fairly complex idea in a succinct and playful way. My former business partner and I used the word as a group name for a project when we were still in school and it lasted several iterations of our collaboration until he left to work for Apple. I kept the name as I started getting freelance videography work and the rest, as they say, is history.

Q. How would you describe your filming style?
A. My style is to use the medium to tell stories. I try to keep the aesthetic modern without getting too hung up on the latest fads, and in general I try to deliver clean, uncluttered edits that tell the couple’s story and match their emotional intensity.

Q. Why weddings?
A. Weddings are a film-maker’s dream. Beautiful stories are unfolding in real-time with extremely emotional moments and many people coming together to celebrate two people that they love. I could not have written some of the moments I’ve captured at weddings; each one is unique and most are breathtakingly beautiful. In many ways, I think modern weddings and the moving picture medium were tailor-made for each other.

Q. What services do you offer?
A. The typical deliverable is a simple 60-minute edit of the entire ceremony and speeches, a 15 to 25-minute cinematic edit of the full day, and a 2-minute teaser for online. We can deliver the two long-form edits on custom DVDs and we use footage from the videos to create a slick design for the cover jacket.

We also shoot engagement and honeymoon shoots as well.

Q. What makes you different/better than the competition?
A. I shoot with a three-person crew instead of the typical two-person, and it makes a huge difference in the quality or our footage. The third crew-member is responsible for capturing audio, communicating with the planner, keeping track of the schedule, etc. which frees the two camera operators to do what they are supposed to be doing: capturing moments. You can certainly shoot a wedding with two or even one camera operator, but I’ve found that the third crew member makes a demonstrable difference in the depth and quality of the captured moments and I think that this work-flow difference sets us apart from most other cinematographers.

Q. Who is your ideal client?
A. It may sound a little strange, but my favorite clients are couples who think they’re not photogenic or who don’t think their stories or very interesting, because they are always surprised by how compelling they are on film and how beautiful their stories are when set against the backdrop of their wedding day. I think a lot of couples get so wrapped up in the nuts and bolts of putting on The Wedding that they forget that the whole day is about bringing loved ones together to celebrate their new lives together and, in many ways, to reinforce the bonds of family and friendship.

Q. What tips/advice would you give to engaged couples who are thinking about video for their wedding?
A. A good trick is to give the videographer photographs of family members and friends that you would like to include in the final edit.  It can be quite difficult for videographers to tell who the VIPs are during a wedding, particularly those who are not in the wedding party, and studying a few photographs ahead of time makes it much easier to know who they should focus their eye on.

Also, and this may sound overly practical, but make sure that you have worked out the details in advance. Who exactly will be shooting the day of the wedding? What is the due date for the film? Can you request changes to the final edit?  How many? What is the dress code for the videographers? The sooner you get these details nailed down, the less stressful the entire experience will be.

THANK YOU, Keller for letting us get to know you a bit better - keep on telling those beautiful love stories through your camera lens and we'll keep watching!

To book Keller and his team for your wedding today, check out the different package options they offer, and then fill out their online form. Their films are so much more than wedding videos - don't miss out on a moving memory that will last forever.

If you missed last month's interview, check it out here.
