DESIGNER CHALLENGE DAY 29: PLACID BLUE

Blue is one of those universally appealing colors, especially when it comes to weddings, so I was excited to take on day 29 of the Full Circle Eventi design challenge: Placid Blue.

It's another one of Pantone's colors and I decided to pair it with 3 other shades of blue, ranging from pale to navy, creating an ombre effect. There's something very calming, but also cheery about using these shades together, and I don't think you can go overboard with it either.

I love the idea of mismatched bridesmaid dresses - different shapes and styles in all different shades of blue - it creates a fresh, modern look, and it's still cohesive to the overall vision. Even the bride has a bit of blue at the bottom of her gown - that gown - ah, love.

The escort cards are perfectly written out on mini cards and attached to the wall, while tinted glassware, china, and flatware adorn each place setting. Big blue and white blooms cover the ceremony arch, while the invitation suite, and even the cake get a splash of the multiple blue shades.

DESIGNER CHALLENGE DAY 25: FREESIA

Freesia is one of Pantone's colors for the Spring, and I decided to pair it with gray and green for day 25 of the Full Circle Eventi challenge.

I designed a cheerful early Summer affair with loads of succulents and lemons and even succulents inside of lemons! Greenery drapes the ceremony space and the bride's hair, while guests are greeted by a refreshing lemonade stand and personalized favors.

DESIGNER CHALLENGE DAY 21: VIOLET TULIP

Oh Pantone, how we love thee. Day 21 of the Full Circle Eventi challenge brings with it another lovely Pantone color - Violet Tulip. It's a bluish lavender tone and I think it blends perfectly with soft pink and blue tones.

Add luscious, overflowing blooms, hints of lavender, and beautiful calligraphy, and you have one stunning soiree.

DESIGNER CHALLENGE DAY 18: PALOMA

It's another Pantone color for day 18 of the Full Circle Eventi challenge - Paloma, a muted neutral gray - which I paired with a pastel watercolor palette of very light pink, blue, and yellow.

The dark gray pillar candles stand out on the tables amongst a sea of pale prettiness. The watercolor pattern appears on the invitations, escort cards, and cake, while the bridesmaids glow in their mismatched, but coordinated frocks. A perfect palette for a spring or summer fete.

DESIGNER CHALLENGE DAY 14: SAND

When I first started thinking about ideas for day 14 of the Full Circle Eventi challenge - to design a wedding using the Pantone color, Sand - I thought I would pair it with vibrant colors like poppy red and slate blue or lemon yellow and teal.

All of those would be beautiful, don't get me wrong, but instead, I decided to let the sand hue shine amongst other neutrals, like shades of gray and tan. I wanted to show how beautiful a greige (gray and beige) wedding can be when paired with lots of texture and interest.

The key to making a beige wedding look, well, not beige (interpretation: boring), is to use many different shades to add visual appeal. I think this combination is anything but boring.

DESIGNER CHALLENGE DAY 11: HEMLOCK

Yippee, another Pantone 2014 Spring color for day 11 of the Full Circle Eventi challenge.

Introducing Hemlock.

This muted mint green shade is soft, romantic, calming, and blends perfectly with French blue and ivory for an outdoor seaside affair, complete with antique and vintage decor.

DESIGNER CHALLENGE DAY 8: CELOSIA ORANGE

Oh happy day! Day 8 of the Full Circle Eventi challenge was to design a wedding using another one of Pantone's colors: Celosia Orange. And since orange just happens to be my all-time favorite color, I had a ton of fun with this one.

I decided to counteract this vibrant hue with a pale peach and soft gray, and I'm loving the result - a laid-back, romantic, pretty affair with lots of personal touches and colorful details.

DESIGNER CHALLENGE DAY 3: DAZZLING BLUE

Day 3 of the Full Circle Eventi challenge brings another Pantone color - Dazzling Blue - and it will be the hot wedding color this Spring.

I decided to pair this rich hue with shades of hot and pale pink for a modern, preppy feel. I wanted the wedding to feel cozy, but luxurious, so I added farmhouse tables, beautifully designed paper, glitzy chandeliers, tinted glassware, and a super fancy cake, all surrounding a magnificent tree.

For my wedding inspiration using the Pantone color of the year, Radiant Orchid, go here.
