WEDDING VENUE SPOTLIGHT - WATER'S EDGE

I attended another great Association of Bridal Consultants meeting on Tuesday night, and this time it was at Water's Edge in Long Island City, NY (Queens).

All I have to say is - what a view! This place has the best view of Manhattan - hands down. Words or pictures won't even do it justice - you just have to see it for yourself. And the great part is, it's a restaurant with a ballroom upstairs, so you can check it out for lunch or dinner, even if you're not looking to have your wedding there.

They typically set up cocktail hour in the restaurant area, which also includes a wrap-around deck, and then guests head upstairs for the reception - it's 100% handicapped accessible too. They can fit up to 325 people with dancing (400 without), but they can also accommodate much smaller events. And you can utilize their ferry for pickups and drop-offs in Manhattan - what a way for guests to arrive at a wedding!

My favorite part might be that you can rent their private yacht for just about anything during your event - use if for your ceremony, a dessert cruise, or after hours party - it doesn't get much cooler than that. So head on over as soon as can - I promise, you will not be disappointed.

Thank you to Stella Inserra of Simply Dazzling Events and the Association of Bridal Consultants for another amazing night. And a special thanks to Lynn Jawitz, Owner and Head Designer at Florisan, LLC., who gave us a very useful presentation on how to handle floral emergencies - that might be one of the most priceless skills to have as a wedding coordinator, so for that, I am extremely grateful.
